5 Black Colleges Win Grants for Fund Raising
The Kresge Foundation and the Southern Education Foundation announced $10.75-million in awards last month to help five historically black colleges build their advancement operations. The grants represent a major effort by the foundations to help black colleges improve their fund-raising capabilities -- an area that many experts consider crucial to the institutions' health.
