$400-Million Is Pledged to Stanford
The William and Flora Hewlett Foundation has made a pledge of $400-million to Stanford University, the institution announced last week. The gift is the largest ever to an American institution of higher education.
The money will bolster Stanford's endowment for humanities, sciences, and undergraduate education.
