3 Egyptian Students, Missing From Montana State U. Program, Are Detained

Federal authorities today arrested three Egyptian students who arrived in the United States nearly two weeks ago for an exchange program at Montana State University at Bozeman but failed to show up on the campus. One of the students was detained in Minnesota, and two others turned themselves in in New Jersey, the Associated Press reported. The students were part of a group of 17 that arrived with valid visas. They have been described as not posing a threat of terrorism (The Chronicle, August 7). Six of the students arrived, as planned, on the Montana campus. The remaining eight are still being sought.
