3 Academics and a Student Chorus Are Among Recipients of National Medals
Washington
President Bush presented the 2008 National Humanities Medals and National Medals of Arts during a ceremony at the White House on Monday. Three of this year’s honorees in the humanities were academics, while a student organization was among the arts-medal recipients.
The three academics awarded humanities medals were:
- Gabor S. Boritt, director and founder of the Civil War Institute at Gettysburg College and a professor of Civil War-era studies
