28 Families Reach Final Settlements With Virginia Tech and the State
Twenty-eight of the 32 families whose relatives were killed in the shootings at Virginia Tech last year have reached final settlements with the Commonwealth of Virginia that preclude their filing lawsuits alleging that the state or the university is to blame, the attorney general's office said last week.
The terms of the settlement, which were announced by Gov. Timothy M. Kaine in April, offer the families financial compensation and other benefits. In final, public form, it grants each
