A community college in southwestern Oregon plans to end two technical-training programs and cut its student-services staff to head off an anticipated million-dollar budget shortfall.
Rogue Community College said it would lay off six full-time faculty members and 17 other employees in its student-services, diesel-technology, and electronics departments, according to the Mail Tribune, a local newspaper.
The 16 diesel-technology students and six electronics students will be allowed to finish their course work next year before the programs are discontinued. —Elyse Ashburn
