2-Year-College Leaders Discuss Achievement Gaps and Accountability
As hundreds of the nation's community-college leaders gathered here last week for the American Association of Community Colleges' annual convention, the discussion centered on student success, including how colleges measure it, promote it, and are held accountable for it.
One of the chief concerns expressed at the meeting was the gap between the retention, graduation, and transfer rates of minority students, particularly black men, and those of other student groups.
