I feel compelled to respond to "A Small Athletics Association Tries To Revamp Its Image" (The Chronicle, March 23). ...
The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics positions itself as an alternative to big-time athletics. The article did not contrast in detail the NAIA's purposes and services with those of the National Collegiate Athletic Association's Divisions II and III, home to almost 70 percent of the NCAA's member institutions.
