2 MIT Scientists Say 'Ask Jeeves' Infringed on Their Patents
Two research scientists at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have sued Ask Jeeves Inc., the corporation that runs an Internet search engine of the same name, for patent infringement. The lawsuit, filed by Patrick Winston and Boris Katz, alleges that Ask Jeeves infringes two of their patents for retrieving information from computer texts and databases, including the use of "natural language" queries, phrased in ordinary English.
