16 Colleges Start Fund-Raising Campaigns or Increase Goals for Them

Sixteen colleges and universities have announced new capital campaigns or updates to existing ones.

* Alaska Pacific University has announced a campaign to raise $20-million by 2004. The money is to increase the endowment, expand student housing, renovate buildings, and build laboratories. So far, the university has raised more than $11.5-million.

* Centenary College of Louisiana has announced a campaign to raise $90-million by the end of 2000. The
