13,000 Professors Sign Petition Opposing War With Iraq
More than 13,000 professors have signed an online petition opposing a U.S. invasion of Iraq. The Web-based effort, created by two professors at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, is circulating widely throughout academe.
The petition argues that an invasion, because it could destabilize the Middle East, is not in the best interests of the United States. It also notes opposition from U.S. allies and the United Nations. "Any military action against Iraq should have the moral force
