$100-Million Is Donated to U. of the Pacific
The University of the Pacific announced this month that it would receive an estate gift of $100-million from a regent and her husband, who is a former regent.
The donors, Robert C. and Jeannette Powell, are announcing their pledge now so it can be part of the 6,000-student university's current fund-raising campaign for scholarships and facilities enhancements. The specific use of the gift has not been decided, but it will be put toward a fund in the Powells' name.
